2022 Construction Year in Review video
The I-75 Modernization Project Segment 3 construction began in 2019, with preparations beginning much earlier. The work in this segment has impacted the local community and those who commute the corridor, but the improvements from this project have been monumental.
In this video, we take a look at the work accomplished in 2022 as we journey through footage originally shot in 2011, comparing it to new footage showing the improvements at the improved I-75/I-696 interchange. Not only were the roadway and bridges improved in this area, but also a "braid" ramp was built that separates I-696 motorists headed to northbound I-75 over exiting northbound I-75 traffic to 11 Mile Road. We then journey through some footage showing the rebuilt Lincoln Avenue bridge, work near 11 Mile Road, and Gardenia Avenue. Finally, we reach the dramatic difference at the 12 Mile Road interchange with the newly built diverging diamond interchange, and finally the rebuilt bridge over 13 Mile Road.
While we understand the impact this work has on the residents and commuters, it is important to also acknowledge the great improvements.
We thank you for your continued patience and encourage you to follow along as we approach the 2023 construction season. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates.
